Campo Minutemen have twice observed a new occurrence at the border this month - horses. On the first occasion, Kingfish noted a man on a horse, leading two other horses, who appeared to have saddles or some type of back. He called this in to the Border Patrol. An agent came out, spoke to Kingfish, and advised him that the man had been spotted earlier, riding along the Border Road with just one horse. They had observed him, earlier but lost track of him. The Border Patrol met the man and questioned him.
The next week, Kingfish, was alerted by his dog, Buddy to a group of four horses standing along the Border Fence. There were no people with the horses who did not have saddles. A short time later, a horse trailer pulled up and loaded the horses into the trailer. The trailer was so heavy it got stuck in the dirt. At the suggestion of the Border Patrol, Kingfish assisted the men so they could proceed, and the Border Patrol could follow them and try to determine what was going on. The Border Patrol described the men as "persons of interest" but were not able to provide additional information about the investigation.

Report from Gaget Dan
On September 11, Jawbone,James and Gadget Dan went to a flag raising event at Camp Vigilance, attended by about about 80 patriots, including Ridge Runner,Viking and Big Bob. The event was covered by local media. Dan met with some individuals who had worked to help secure the Border/Vehicle Barrier fence area. The men were involved in extending the vehicle barrier, with barbed wire fencing, in line at the end of the metal vehicle barrier. They extended their range fencing (6 feet high), some distance to the East. They drilled holes in rocks and boulders to extend the range fence. Dan repaired a damaged spot in the range fence just South of the flag raising area parking lot. The damage to the range fence had all the usual markings indicating it had occurred recently. There was discarded litter, including a blanket,on the North side of the fence brought Dan's attention to the damaged area of the range fence.

Agent Rosas' cousin and his family attended.
UPLAND - A candlelight vigil was held Friday outside City Hall to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the death of a fallen border patrol agent.
Agent Robert Rosas, 30, was shot and killed on July 23, 2009 by a group Mexican citizens illegally crossing the border near Campo.
Claremont-based anti-illegal immigration group, We The People, California's Crusader, organized the vigil.
The group passed a card for Rosas' wife and two young children.
"We're keeping his memory alive," said Robin Hvidston, member of We The People. "He didn't give his live in vain. We the American public, the people, appreciate that he paid the ultimate sacrifice, the giving of his life."
Rosas was shot multiple times in the back of the head after investigating suspicious activity along the border.

Mysterious Group of Illegal Border Crossers
Campo Minutemen Keep Fence Repaired
The Illegals continue to cross the area where Agent Rosa was assassinated. They cut open the fence, and sometimes vandalize the Memorial. The like this area for crossing because on the other side of the Border Fence there a large grove of shade trees and a large rock they can stand on to look North.
The Minutemen however, continue to thwart their efforts by repairing the fence and monitoring the Memorial.

Gadget Dan reports that as of June 11, 2010, we have removed from Public lands, some 25 Tons of litter (50,095 pounds). We started the Highway Clean up / Litter Removal Project in June, 2006. As Dan says, we continue "Taking back San Diego East County, one littered bit at a time".
The Campo Minutemen were contact this month by Adam Nilsen, Researcher at the History Department of the Oakland Museum of California, known as "The Story of California. The Story of You." He was requesting Minuteman artifacts for an exhibit on the California/Mexico border, and we are looking for objects used by the Minutemen to include in this exhibit. The collection will be preserved for future generations of Californians to learn about life in California in 2010. The Campo Minutemen contributed numerous items, including; an "Undocumented Border Patrol" Shirt, a "Campo Minutemen Hat," the "Free Ramos and Compean" banner from Kingfish''s Truck, "Border Booties" from Illegal Border Crosser and items commemorating the sacrifices of Border Agent Robert Rosas and California Deputy Sheriff David March.
