More Reports of Border Vandalism

More Reports of Border Vandalism

Watch Advisor, whose group monitors the border east of Campo, reports that these job sites are good targets for material thieves. Most have been from the south side since the materials are left sometimes less than 100 feet from the border. His group chased off a group of six one night while they were on duty guarding two sites for Kiewit last month. They had climbed onto a dozer and were attempting to remove tool kits, fire extinguishers, and other items It didn't work out for them in the end.

Minuteman Max Foils A Break In !!

Max foiled a break in at the equipment yard last night down where Howards Trailer used to be by some illegal Border Crosser. They tore down the gate while the security guards were gone. He rolled up on them in his van and they took off. They almost ran him down trying to get out to Shocky truck trail. He stayed there and watched the yard until security arrived.

Way to go MAX!!

Update from Ridge Runner

Yeah the new fence is looking good, but it'll only be a mile or so in this section then nothing in the next canyon over to the east. The west end joins up with the old runway mat wall complete with holes and gaps. The invaders just go around the new fence and over, under, or thorough a gap in the existing one.

This results in more activity around here. We had something like a Chinese fire drill last night with Border Patrol chasing illegal invaders in all directions for a while. They finally got them rounded up and in custody.

Report from Viking - Part 2

There are still pleanty of places that are still crossing over the old fence but that new fence is really something.

Report from Viking - Border Fence at Campo

I was at Campo last weekend dropping off some food items to Howard, Richard, Max and Tom courtesy of CCIR and Eagle Forum. Thanks to them from all of us down there. I made a mistake reporting that some parts of the new road were paved. It's an optical illusion cause by the shadows thrown off by the new fence. There are other shots of the fires burning in Mexico and some NVG shots I took with my camera... crude but fun to try and see how they turned out.
The pictures are listed in order and on another e-mail to follow, I have some great shots heading east from 141 down the new border road. It is STEEP to say the least. You'll see by the pictures.
