~ The Gift Outright ~

~ The Gift Outright ~

The land was ours before we were the land's.
She was our land more than a hundred years
Before we were her people. She was ours
In Massachusetts, in Virginia.
But we were England's, still colonials,
Possessing what we still were unpossessed by,
Possessed by what we now no more possessed.
Something we were withholding made us weak.
Until we found out that it was ourselves
We were withholding from our land of living,
And forthwith found salvation in surrender.
Such as we were we gave ourselves outright
(The deed of gift was many deeds of war)
To the land vaguely realizing westward,
But still unstoried, artless, unenhanced,
Such as she was, such as she would become.

Report from Kingfish

It is very cold at Campo. Light snow on the ground in some places.

It has been very active at his new post, east of Smith Canyon. In the last 24 hours, they have stopped a group of 18 and another of 25.

There are a lot of Border Patrol and National Guard there. For the most part, they are friendly and supportive of Civilian Border Watchers. They even gave Kingfish a present. One also used the van to look over the fence.

I don;t want to put too many details in print, but contact him when you are there if you want more information.

As he called in this report, a man was yelling at him in Spanish.

Campo Update and editorial: Thanksgiving 2006

Update and editorial: Thanksgiving 2006

On 11/23/06 I took the scenic route down the old
highway from Jacumba to Campo as I usually do. Just
as I did on 11/10/06, I stopped by the MCDC’s new
compound called “Camp Vigilance” to check it out. I
found it locked and deserted on both weekends and none
of their crew observed me or the border.
I rolled up to The Oaks at Campo about noon just as
Weasel and Shaggy were leaving, having finished their
night shift and heading home. I was grateful to
relieve them. Mad Max was on hand to give me a
briefing. Several locals and MMP affiliates brought us
Thanksgiving meals for with we were very grateful.
Thanksgiving night was very active. A large group
crossed and the Border Patrol sent three trucks up on
the power line road behind 138, 139 and 140.
Meanwhile a small group apparently got though by The
Oaks. Max heard them and we tracked their footprints
down the trail west of The Oaks until we lost them in
the brush. Max and I each sat watch in separate
locations on high ground just east of the PCT,
observing the culverts and low lands beyond. The
would-be crossers in Mexico taunted us all night,
hollering and banging the fence.
As we sat on the high ground the vision of the
Border Patrols working the power line roads was a
sight to behold. They were obvious herding a large
group of illegals. Suddenly, I was startled by a
vehicle coming up behind me. It was a large Border
Patrol van heading east at high speed, a sure sign
that a significant number had been captured. I
radioed Max and we met at The Oaks in time to watch
the BP vehicles leaving the area. They waved at us as
we gave them a standing ovation.
I resumed my patrols, alternating between using my
top mounted Go-Light to spotlight the area and my side
light to look for fresh tracks. Periodically Max
would bring Thanksgiving leftovers to my position.
I ended up at my favorite spot (and apparently the
smugglers too) at 139. About 0400 Max, while out on
patrol, brought me pumpkin pie. About fifteen minutes
after he left, someone from behind the fence hollered,
startling at me. At about 0445 I got out of the truck
to stretch and someone else hollered at me, this time
from America, in the area behind 139 where the BP had
been working only hours before. I called the Border
Patrol at Campo and reported it, stating that perhaps
there were still illegals in that area. BP was at my
position within 15 minutes and searched the area to no
avail. When he came back to my position I asked him
what had gone on earlier in the evening. He said they
had caught thirteen illegals, but the two young
coyotes they wanted weren’t with them. I thanked him
for the job he was doing and he returned the
compliment.
As aside, this has always been my experience at
Campo. Without exception the BP always thanks us for
being present. I always ask them if there is anything
we should do or not do and they always say to just
keep doing what we are doing. One officer even
commended me for being armed and said it was dangerous
not to have a weapon as close to the border as we
work. So much for the gun toting vigilante
accusations. The individual BP officers in the field
profess to like us there, and like us there armed.
They enjoy having responsible citizens providing them
with more eyes and ears.
About sun up I walked quietly over the white monument
panel at 139, where I have frequently noted illegals
brazenly coming and going. Through a peephole in the
fence I spied movement under a tarp on the ground.
Payback time. I banged on the fence loudly as they
had done repeatedly through the night. I abruptly
awakened three men who sprang up surprised from
beneath the tarp. I took a picture of one of them
though the hole in the fence and immediately had a
rock thrown at me.
Friday morning a White Bronco drove down the fence
line on the Mexican side from 140 to a hilltop just
west of The Oaks. I took pictures as five men, all
dressed in identical dark blue uniforms got out of the
vehicle several times and walked around toward the
fence. Then they left the area heading south.
Friday afternoon, while patrolling on my motorcycle,
I found a fresh hole under the fence between 139 and
140. It had been dug out from the American side. I
informed a BP agent who was on patrol and then we
plugged the leak.
Friday night I had another Minuteman Thanksgiving
meal, prepared by Ridgerunner. I ate it in the cab of
my truck while observing the 140 area with night
vision, also loaned to me by Ridgerunner. Gadget and
Radar visited me before a thick fog rolled in and
visibility deteriorated. Unable to see, I went back
down to The Oaks where Max and I slept in shifts.
The fog lifted and I resumed my patrol about 0230.
About dawn I went back to the monument panel at 139 to
see if those boys were under the tarp again. They
were there, but they were already awake and peering at
me thought the holes in the fence. I left Campo for
home Saturday morning about 1100.
Now comes the brief opinion piece
I have deployed with the now defunct Friends of the
Border Patrol once, the Border Search and Rescue one
time and in April of 2006 I tried to deploy with the
MCDC. The MCDC muster was in disarray and that is how
I ended up in Campo, where the men put me to work
directly. I am proud to claim affiliation with all of
the groups but especially the men and women who work
the Campo area. They are tireless patriots and
civilian observers, many of whom live on the border
24/7. They work closely with, cooperate with and are
welcomed by the BP. If MCDC actually has the money
and manpower it claims to have in the southern
California area why not organize and help the other
groups? Instead of a large, once a month MCDC dog and
pony show at “Camp Vigilance” which is deserted the
rest of the time, why not stagger the MCDC “musters”
and communicate with the Campo Minutemen and the MMP?
If we put our egos aside and our country first we
could effectively cover and observe the border from
Boundary Peak to Bell Valley! Can’t we all just get
along??
This concludes my report. I will submit this report
and corresponding pictures to the webmaster for
eventual inclusion at

Protesters decry illegal immigration
Man died after collision blamed on undocumented driver

BY CHARLES F. BOSTWICK, Staff Writer
Article Last Updated:11/25/2006 06:27:59 PM PST

PALMDALE - More than 50 people carrying American flags and signs that read "Stop illegal immigration" demonstrated Saturday at an intersection where a young Palmdale man was fatally injured in a crash blamed on an unlicensed, uninsured undocumented immigrant who tried to walk away after the collision.

The protesters said local government officials should do more to deter illegal immigration, including turning over to federal authorities undocumented immigrants who have been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and similar crimes rather than releasing them to await trial.

"If they release drunk illegal-alien drivers after they sober up, they're setting us up for more deaths of American citizens," said Frank Jorge, founder of the Antelope Valley Independent Minutemen, which organized Saturday's demonstration.

With songs such as Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" and the Eagles' "Lying Eyes" playing on loudspeakers, the demonstrators stood along 10th Street West at Avenue O, beside a memorial cross and candles for 20-year-old Tyler Lundin of Palmdale. Passing motorists honked and waved.

"It's been overwhelmingly positive," Jorge said of the response from passers-by. "I don't think I've seen anybody give us a thumbs-down or a middle finger.

Lundin died four days after an Oct.22 crash in which his pickup truck collided with a compact car that turned left in front of it. The car's two occupants tried to walk away after the crash, but they were caught and detained by several people who witnessed the crash, sheriff's deputies said.

Wilfredo Briswela, 22, of Rosamond, who prosecutors said is an unlicensed, uninsured, undocumented immigrant, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, punishable by up to a year in jail, and felony hit-and-run, punishable by up to four years in prison. He's in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail awaiting trial.

Littlerock resident Susan Zaks stood beside Lundin's roadside memorial with a hand-lettered sign reading, "The cost of illegals."

She said she is not against immigrants - her father and his parents came to the United States from England, her mother's parents from Russia and her husband from Israel - but wants immigrants to comply with U.S. immigration laws.

"I want everyone coming in the front door, just like my father, my grandparents and my husband did," Zaks said.

By federal law, immigrants - legal or illegal - are deported after they serve their sentences for serious crimes including murder, robbery, child molestation and some thefts.

But Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said they do not routinely check the immigration status of people arrested for misdemeanors or cited for offenses such as driving without a license, though they routinely impound vehicles driven by people without licenses.

Jorge, a Mojave resident, said the Antelope Valley Independent Minutemen was founded to try other tactics not used by the nationally known Minuteman Project, whose members have staked out border crossings used by people entering the United States illegally.

The group's first demonstration was in September at east Palmdale's Four Points intersection, where they protested loitering by day laborers whom they presumed to be mostly, if not entirely, undocumented immigrants.

They also protested the September 2005 death of off-duty paramedic Michael Sprinkles, whose motorcycle was hit by a compact car driven by an undocumented immigrant who had been deported in 1999 for crimes committed in the United States and had a driver's license under one of his many assumed names.

The group's members have also appeared before the Lancaster and Palmdale city councils, and Jorge said he thinks their pressure is responsible for a Lancaster decision to reject Mexican matricular consular cards as identification for city business, and for Palmdale officials' consideration of requiring companies with city contracts to verify they are not employing people who are in the United States illegally.

Campo Minutemen report: 11-14-06

Campo Minutemen report:
11-14-06

Men and women, tired to the bone, continue to stand watch in the Campo,
California area. Spreading thinly both East and West they stand ready to
report all the illegal actively they see. Hard working but never enough of
them. Not enough concerned citizens and precious little money to buy or
replace decent high tech visual equipment or even pay for Gasoline. The
Campo Minutemen are stretched thin. Max, with blood shot eyes roams the
wall, the back country and dirt roads day and night in "The Beast" formally
known as "Godzilla". Others like Rascal, set up in a position and stand
fast, alone but not lonely. Britt walks his high point providing news,
direction towards those approaching the wall, and a comforting radio voice
at "Oh Dark Thirty" on a long night. Gadget Dan cleans up trash removing all
the trail markers he can find, and repairs breaks in the wired holes under
the wall. Many others come and go spending whatever time they can.

For the most part drug smugglers seem to be crossing East and West of Campo
Minutemen. However, there is still a flow right through Campo Minutemen's
positions. Yesterday afternoon, for example, a truck and foot traffic was
seen near the Pacific Crest trail southern terminus, Mexican side. A little
while later Campo Minutemen installed culver wire, just East of Patriot
Point was found cut. Someone either cut it in preparation to cross or they
crossed undetected. In the last month or so many people have crossed into
the US and escaped into the American Ether via the Campo area. Campo
Minutemen have reported some but bye and large the spotters on the Mexican
side simply observe and the crossers wait for the Campo Minutemen to move or
they pick another dip in the terrain and slip over or under the wall and
head North to work, amnesty and a vote towards a Communist Government.

Most days are pretty quiet and then some days there is a rush of activity on
the South side of the Wall or a herd of different characters with in 15
minutes pouring in to the border area from the North moving up and down the
Wall zone. Very strange. You don't know who is whom, and what they are up
to.

In Campo, I have seen one, 2 man, static position, manned by what looks to be
US Army. A month, further East, I saw a 3 man position manned by US Army, one soldier with a
side arm. Since I have been on the border this month there is more Border
Patrol agents than I have ever seen and yet still hardly enough to do even a half
decent job. I am told that these extra Beeps arrived when I arrived. Huh? I assume coincidence.

People are still crossing. CMM is finding discarded cans of food, a hash
pipe a couple days ago, jackets, etc.and other indicators of people from the south passing
through us and heading North. A La Gloria canyon resident complained to me that
illegal aliens burglarized his home, again.

There are mixed feelings about the Election, but people still intend to work
the Campo area, as shown by the fact Ridge Runner was having a roof
installed on his trailer at 141, that will out last most house roofs.
Chezkstan brought in an RV and it sits at the Oaks. Others come and go.

You can really tell we are being watched from Mexico. I have been camped
with a trailer at 140. Every night I leave the porch light on as a beacon to
be seen in Mexico. My wife came down and turned the light off. Before dawn we had people
all up and down the Wall to our front. In Vehicles, on foot and horse back.
I said, "See, we need to leave the light on all night so the watchers can
see we are here.

On the light side, most of us showed up at the VFW for free food on Nov 10,
2006. USMC/Veteran's Day. Britt and I are both members. The food was good and price right lol! The 18th the VFW has their
Steak fry 3pm-6pm. We had group dinners at my trailer and Howard's trailer.
And you will never forget a "Vigilante Dog," prepared by Chezkstan with a
Mapp Gas torch.

Report From Kingfish

Campo is staring to look a little like a trailer park on the weekends with the number of campers and recreational vehicles.

Over the weekend, the number of attempted crossings increased as they usually do when amnesty looks imminent. Early Sunday Morning, Kingfish spotted a white pick up truck on the south side right about 141 with seven or eight individuals looking to cross. Had they done do, they would have crossed over right onto Chechstan. There were several border patrol agents on scene very quickly.

Later that same day, two older, males were scene on the south side. They road up on Quads and looked over the fence, using binoculars. Kingfish was alerted to their presence by Buddy. One even climbed a tree to get a better look.

Tuesday 10-17-06 - Thursday 10-19-06

Tuesday 10-17-06 - Thursday 10-19-06

Tuesday we dragged some of the interior roads at our primary site and looked for evidence of any incursions from the last few days. No sign was detected. We then mounted a foot patrol/observation effort to see if any activity would occur during the shift change gap in coverage. Tecate PD was observed in the area, but no other traffic was detected. Another team working on the weekend detected and reported sign from a group of 20 that had cut our secondary chain link fencing to make entry. Another group of 15 was sighted immediately south of the primary steel fence waiting to cross. They were deterred until the fence could be repaired and the National Guard could re-establish watch. Another group of five was sighted Sunday using a new route that goes around our latest fencing project. They were reported to and later apprehended by Border Patrol.

Wednesday we prepared more fencing for installation and cleared brush, then set up at a new location for over night watch. This site has over a mile of border and is known as a busy Title 21 (narcotics) corridor. An elaborate tunnel was discovered here a few years ago. Border Patrol was already working a group in the area as we set up. Border Patrol agents pulled off the border at this site just after midnight (shift change) and did not return for more than eight hours. Although we did not observe any crossings; there was heavy vehicle activity during both the midnight shift change and morning shift change periods. Crossings could have possibly occurred in three large blind spots in our detection zone. Without better thermal image equipment or additional technology and personnel; this area will not be easily secured. We will begin working with property owners to clear concealing brush, improve fencing, and condition patrol roads to increase security in this location.

Thursday morning we observed several trucks moving between houses south of the fence during the morning shift change period. Although nothing we observed was worth reporting immediately; we believe that these vehicles were being used to move narcotics or possibly tunneling supplies. When digging a tunnel, large amounts of dirt need to be removed and displaced. It might be considered too suspicious, by tunnelers, to accumulate this soil near the tunnel site. Some of the vehicles may have been hauling off the dirt in concealed boxes. After Border Patrol resumed watch in this zone; we returned to our primary site to make fence improvements and check for sign of incursions. We saw no evidence of any crossings. We were able to install another 100 yards of chain link and cleared brush to allow easier viewing into a blind spot in the Border Patrol/National Guard watch area.

Tuesday 10-10-06 - Saturday 10-14-06

Tuesday 10-10-06 - Saturday 10-14-06

Sign was detected from only one group that crossed where our current fencing project ends. The group of four left deep foot prints in our drag road, which may indicate that they were carrying a heavy load usually associated with narcotics traffickers. This was reported to Border Patrol and was followed up on in part of an ongoing investigation. A single south side scout was also spotted during a 15 minute shift change gap left by both Border Patrol an National Guard. We have made a point of covering these time periods to further increase the effectiveness of the new National Guard presence. We continued installing fencing along our newest stretch of patrol road and were able to install over 100 yards total for the week. This may not seem like much, but considering there were no more than four people working on it at any one time; some progress is better than none. Over night watch was set using the thermal image system. We missed one crossing that was observed by the National Guard minutes after passing by that section. The group of two crawled across the government road and dug under our fence. They left ample sign on top of our freshly dragged road. Border Patrol responded but did not make any apprehensions. A second crossing, also with two intruders, was documented at 03:00. We observed both individuals crawling across the road as before. We responded immediately and were able to chase this pair back south. We believe their purpose was to scout for holes in the joint NG/USBP/USE detection network. No further crossings were detected until Friday during afternoon shift change. Sign from a group of four was detected on our dragged road. Border patrol was notified. Saturday we discovered that part of our secondary chain link fencing had been cut to the ground right under a National Guard position, suggesting the heavy brush creates a real blind spot. Sign from a group of 20 was detected and reported. An additional group of 15 was discovered waiting by the fence ready to cross. They were deterred until the fence was repaired.

Adam Gadahn to be Charged with Treason

http://www.nysun.com/article/41417

Calif. Man, 28, Is First American Charged With Treason Since WWII Era

By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ - Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — A 28-year-old Californian who joined Al Qaeda and appeared in propaganda videos for the terrorist organization was indicted yesterday on federal charges of treason and aiding terrorists, a U.S. Justice Department official said.

Adam Yehiye Gadahn could be sentenced to death if convicted of the charge, which has been used only a few dozen times in American history and not at all since the World War II era. He also was indicted on a charge of providing material support to terrorists.

A grand jury returned the indictment against Mr. Gadahn, a suspected Qaeda operative sought by the FBI since 2004, the official said, asking to remain anonymous because the indictment was to be announced later in the day.

Mr. Gadahn, who is believed to be in or near Pakistan, is believed to have attended the terrorist group's training camps in Pakistan and served as one of its translators. He has become known by his nom de guerre Azzam al-Amriki, or "Azzam the American."

Mr. Gadahn appeared last month in a 48-minute video along with Al Qaeda's no. 2 leader, Ayman al-Zawahri, calling on his countrymen to convert to Islam and for American soldiers to switch sides in the Iraq and Afghan wars.

It was the second time that he appeared in the same video with Mr. Zawahri.

In a July 7 video marking the oneyear anniversary of the terror attack on London commuters, Mr. Gadahn appeared briefly, saying no Muslim should "shed tears" for Westerners killed by Al Qaeda attacks.

Beyond that, authorities believe that he is the masked figure who appeared in two previous videos not officially from Al Qaeda, one given to ABC television in 2004 and another a few days before the fourth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Raised in Southern California on a Riverside goat farm, Mr. Gadahn converted to Islam and worshipped at the Islamic Society of Orange County in 1997 before being expelled for attacking one of its leaders.

His mother last spoke to him by phone in March 2001. At the time he was in Pakistan, working at a newspaper, and his wife was getting ready to have a child

At Columbia, Students Attack Minuteman Founder

By ELIANA JOHNSON - Staff Reporter of the Sun
October 5, 2006

Students stormed the stage at Columbia University's Roone auditorium yesterday, knocking over chairs and tables and attacking Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the Minutemen, a group that patrols the border between America and Mexico.

Mr. Gilchrist and Marvin Stewart, another member of his group, were in the process of giving a speech at the invitation of the Columbia College Republicans. They were escorted off the stage unharmed and exited the auditorium by a back door.

Having wreaked havoc onstage, the students unrolled a banner that read, in both Arabic and English, "No one is ever illegal." As security guards closed the curtains and began escorting people from the auditorium, the students jumped from the stage, pumping their fists, chanting victoriously, "Si se pudo, si se pudo," Spanish for "Yes we could!"

The Minuteman Project, an organization of volunteers founded in 2004 by Mr. Gilchrist, aims to keep illegal immigrants out of America by alerting law enforcement officials when they attempt to cross the border. The group uses fiery language and unorthodox tactics to advance its platform. "Future generations will inherit a tangle of rancorous, unassimilated, squabbling cultures with no common bond to hold them together, and a certain guarantee of the death of this nation as a harmonious ‘melting pot,'" the group's Web site warns.

The pandemonium that ensued as the evening's keynote speaker took the stage was merely the climax of protest that brewed all week. A number of campus groups, including the Chicano caucus, the African-American student organization, and the International Socialist organization, began planning their protests early this week when they heard that the Minutemen would be arriving on campus.

The student protesters, who attended the event clad in white as a sign of dissent, booed and shouted the speakers down throughout. They interrupted Mr. Stewart, who is African-American, when he referred to the Declaration of Independence's self-evident truth that "All men are created equal," calling him a racist, a sellout, and a black white supremacist.

A student's demand that Mr. Stewart speak in Spanish elicited thundering applause and brought the protesters to their feet. The protesters remained standing, turned their backs on Mr. Stewart for the remainder of his remarks, and drowned him out by chanting, "Wrap it up, wrap it up!" Mr. Stewart appeared unfazed by their behavior. He simply smiled and bellowed, "No wonder you don't know what you're talking about."

"These are racist individuals heading a project that terrorizes immigrants on the U.S.-Mexican border," Ryan Fukumori, a Columbia junior who took part in the protest, told The New York Sun. "They have no right to be able to speak here."

The student protesters "rush to vindicate themselves with monikers like ‘liberal' and ‘open-minded,' but their actions, their attempt to condemn the Minutemen without even hearing what they have to say, speak otherwise," the president of the Columbia College Republicans, Chris Kulawik, said. On campus, the Republicans' flyers advertising the event were defaced and torn down.

The College Republicans expressed their concern about the lack of free speech for opposing viewpoints on the Columbia campus in the wake of the evening's events. "We've often feared that there's not freedom of speech at Columbia for more right-wing views — and that was proven tonight," the executive director of the Columbia College Republicans, Lauren Steinberg, said.

The Minutemen's arrival at Columbia drew protesters from around the city as well. An hour before Messrs. Stewart and Mr. Gilchrist took the stage, rowdy protests began outside the auditorium on Broadway, where activists chanted, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, the Minutemen have got to go!"

Having wreaked havoc onstage, the students unrolled a banner that read, in both Arabic and English, "No one is ever illegal."

In Arabic? What's up with that? Why would Arabs be worried about a fence on our southern border?

American Hispanic Minuteman Attacked Today in San Diego !

He is one dedicated, proud American! The goons have been after him for months and have threatened him numerous times. On Saturday, one of the MECHA boys threatened to kill him at the rally.

Today while peacefully observing the day labor hiring site at University and Aragon, he was violently attacked by a Hispanic probable handler (pimp) of the aliens. This punk tried to run over him even driving up on the curb, then got out of his car and assaulted him. He is o.k. with some cuts, scrapes and bruises, but was able to call the police and has great video of the guy and car. Police went to his house and have confiscated the vehicle. They may also have the perp in custody, but haven't rec'd confirmation of that yet. Charges will be filed.

It is getting violent out there as the guest workers do what they do best - turn violent and attack Americans for no reason. This has happened many times over the past 6 months to American citizens here in San Diego by Hispanic supporters of illegal aliens.

Update From JJ

Talked with Kingfish Tuesday evening via phone.

Kingfish said Monday evening a large group of 40 some odd illegals
tried to sneak into the good ol' USA, by means of Gloria Canyon.
Not to be. Border Patrol BUSTED all but four of them, who made it
back to MEXIHOLE, where they proceeded to taunt Minutemen and any
others who would watch their mooning and other shows of depravity,
directed at those who would deny them access to this country. A
B.P. Agent finally dispersed the frolicking Mexican Nationals.

Echo and wife are reportedly helping to beef up the Campo Line,
as they have moved a large trailer right up on the "Teddy Roosevelt
Road."

Reports are filtering in from numerous sources that the U S Army has
fully armed Scouts working in the Campo area, doing drug
interdictions and ??? I kinda like the ??? of their operations...

This Saturday I and several other Minutemen will be attending the
protest of the National City Mayor and his would-be Sanctuary City
of National City. The mayor has stated that he will JAIL any
Minutemen protesting on Saturday...well, he better have a BIG
JAIL, 'cause I'm going, and so are a lot of others that I know of.

Jeff Schwilk has said that the mayor is "calling the MM out!" I'll
be there with many others...Hope you will be too. If I have time,
I'm going to make a protest sign...If I don't get jailed, I may
spend Sat. evening on the Campo Line!!

See yall Saturday in Nasty City,

Report From Chase

Hola amigos y amigettes,

Cherokee and I are between Campo and Tierra de sol, east of Campo Minutemen. We do have FRS Channel 6 contact with Kingfish lead dog of Campo Minutemen. In essence working for Campo Minutemen, but semi-independent. Campo Minutemen is not militaristic
march to the beat of my ego group but a fun loving, do it the way YOU want to, as long as you obey most CA and US laws and the laws of morality, group. Have fun, be cool. Report illegal's, if you must shoot back if stoned or shot at, your call.

Cherokee and I tripped across what I thought were National Guard but instead and even better, they were regular Army, and armed.

There are still major gaps in California border security as people are still crossing. Coming through Campo is foolish because of the concentration of government and civilian watchers in this area spreading east and west of Campo, CA Border Patrol station and the PCT.
There is even still actively in the area of Campo Minutemen, an example of being, a woman tore her finger off on the sharp wall right at 138, which is where the plateau drops down into the valley of the Pacific Crest Trail and the Oaks. (Side note:The PCT terminus starts at the Border Wall where there used to be a US border crossing gate. You can walk on this trail right into Canada from here.

Another example of border activity here has to do with all the US flags that CMM has placed on a secondary fence back from the Wall. It is your standard barbed wire fence. It is broken down from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico but some is repaired by Patriots. In Campo it has been 50% restored. Gadget Dan, is a major player in erecting flags. Small flags are attached all along the line, and large flags near the Wall. The smugglers on the south side steal the flags and burn them or place them on high points on the Mexican side. In placing them in Mexico, ARE THEY ASKING US TO ANNEX MEXICO? MR. BUSH ARE YOU LISTENING? I call for "Manifest destiny south, to the horn!"

Today the smugglers were swearing on channel 6. Bad boys all.

Report from JJ - Army at The Border

Folks, Just talked with Campo Line Veteran Britt (Kingfish) by
telephone. He said THREE regular U S Army troops are working on the
Campo Line in the Smith Canyon area. I report that these ARE NOT
National Guard troops, but REGULAR ARMY personnel. They have one
long weapon among the three of them. Evidently they are there 24/7
to observe, and interdict? drug cartel traffic. The Army personnel
are working in direct concert with members of the Campo MM, and are
monitoring each other on the same radio frequencies. Their apparent
goal is the disruption of drug traffic through the Smith Canyon Drug
Corridor. Their faith and respect for the Campo MM was shown by
their "checking-in" with our men in the area to let them know they
were "on-scene."
Britt also reported on one of the MM demonstrators who was at the
protest against the Mayor of National City on Saturday. (The mayor
wants to make the city a "Sanctuary City). Evidently, one of our
people was knocked or shoved down by a National City Policeman. As
he fell he bumped into another of our people who then fell on top of
him.
The cop yelled at the MM to get up, but he couldn't get up
immediately, as someone was laying on top of him. Anyway, the cop
then arrested the MM on "trumped up" charges, and he is currently
still in jail.

I guess you'd call
this "National City Justice" for "Gringos." Anyway, the mayor says
that he will arrest anymore Minutemen who dare to demonstrate in HIS
CITY!

Minutemen rally draws protesters to National City
By Jennifer Vigil
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER

September 24, 2006

NATIONAL CITY – More than 100 police officers and deputies used a median
on National City Boulevard yesterday to separate hundreds of people
gathered to respond to Mayor Nick Inzunza's push for the city to declare
itself a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

Police were called in from across San Diego County to patrol the rally,
which originated as a protest of Inzunza's proposal. It was organized by
the San Diego Minutemen, which began as a group of volunteers attempting
to stem illegal immigration by patrolling the border.

Those who support the sanctuary idea, or were angered by the presence of
the Minutemen, decided to counter with their own event. Both sides
converged at National City's civic center.

The rally continued for more than three hours, and it ended with one
arrest of a man on the anti-illegal immigration side who is accused of
kicking a San Diego sheriff's deputy. His removal angered other
protesters, but police defended their decision to detain the man, who
was not identified.

“You can't be in a crowd and assault an officer and expect to stay in
the crowd,” said National City police Capt. Manuel Rodriguez.

Rodriguez estimated that about 400 people attended the rally, drawn by
Inzunza's announcement two weeks ago that he wants National City to be a
“sanctuary city,” where no local funds are used to enforce federal
immigration laws.

Though the city already practices that policy, the attempt to formally
adopt the label has roiled other city officials, whom Inzunza did not
consult before making his proposal.

Neither Inzunza nor the city's four other council members attended the
rally, which Rodriguez called the largest in recent city history.

Still, Inzunza's presence was felt. Some protesting illegal immigration
held signs with his picture. One read, “Send him to Tijuana,” while
another tagged him a “racist reconquista.”

The other side answered with signs accusing the Minutemen of being
“Today's Koo Koo Klan,” and claiming “No somos immigrantes – es nuestra
tierra,” or, translated, “We aren't immigrants – it's our land.”

The crowd stood on both sides of the divide between the city's Police
Department and City Hall, displaying their signs, waving American and
Mexican flags, and chanting, singing and throwing barbs back and forth.

Minutemen and their supporters lined the east side of the boulevard
between east 12th Street and Civic Center Drive, while those who opposed
them stayed on the west, for the most part.

Two blockades of officers and deputies, some armed with rifles filled
with rubber bullets, tried to bar anyone from crossing. More than a
dozen San Diego police officers on horseback waited on the north side of
the intersection but were never called in.

The charge of racism by some who opposed the Minutemen riled Philip
Walker, a Marine who has served three tours in Iraq. Walker, 27, who is
black, is stationed at Camp Pendleton. He said he supports those who
come to the United States by using the proper channels.

“That's the problem, they turn it into a hate thing,” Walker said. “We
do love our neighbor that comes here legally, that goes through the
process.”

Student Damaly Gonzalez, 19, said anti-illegal immigration demonstrators
failed to realize they can be patriotic and support Latinos, many of
whom, she said, are serving in the war or were among the law enforcement
officials watching over the crowd.

Gonzalez, who said her family came from Mexico two generations ago,
attended the rally with her mother, Alma Santos, six brothers and
several nieces and nephews. The two sides could find some common ground,
she said, but not if they show as much antagonism as they did yesterday.

“It's not being angry,” Gonzalez said. “It's being willing to listen.”

Woman finds scaling fence a costly, painful gamble
By Brady McCombs
ARIZONA DAILY STAR
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 09.23.2006

Editor's note: The Arizona Daily Star will publish a four-day investigative report beginning Sunday that examines the feasibility of sealing the U.S.-Mexican border. Look for stories and photos in the Star this week of the places and people our team of journalists discovered during their nearly 2,000-mile journey along the border from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas.
CAMPO, Calif. — Clutching her right hand in a blue handkerchief, Maria de Rosario's sobs grow louder.
A U.S. Border Patrol agent crouches in front of her. He slowly wraps her severed ring finger in a shirt. He places it in a bag of ice.
"I knew I couldn't do it, I knew I couldn't do it," she says quietly in Spanish to the man sitting next to her, Victor Perez.
Rosario, 25, and Perez, 24, sit with their heads down on a frontage road next to a 10-foot corrugated steel fence that marks the border south of Campo, Calif., about 50 miles east of San Diego.
About one hour earlier, the two climbed over the landing-mat fence as part of a group of Mexican illegal entrants.
The men and women helped each person climb over. Rosario caught her hand on the razor-sharp anvil point on top of the fence.
When she fell to the ground on the U.S. side, pain shot up her arm. Her hand was bleeding. The top third of her ring finger lay on the ground.
A speed bump for illegal entrants? A staircase to the United States? Rosario would offer a different opinion about fences. She would be in the United States today if the fence didn't line the border near Campo.
"Am I going to lose my finger?" she asked while sitting on the dirt frontage road waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Despite the assistance of Border Patrol and local emergency medical technicians, Rosario lost her finger, said Chechstan Hebek, the founder of the California Mountain Minuteman Project. Hebek found De Rosario and Perez on a July evening at sunset and called the Border Patrol.
After being treated at a hospital, De Rosario was voluntarily deported the day after the incident in the evening, said Damon Foreman, spokesman for the Border Patrol San Diego Sector.

Attempting to make her first trip to the United States, De Rosario said she didn't know where she was going or where she would work.
Persuaded by friends, she decided earlier that day to try. As she wiped tears from her eyes, she said she regretted her decision and would never try again.

"It's kind of sad, but you still have to be going by the law," said Hebek, as he stood by his teal minivan while waiting for the Border Patrol to arrive that evening. A naturalized U.S. citizen from Czechoslovakia, he comes from San Diego for about two weeks every month to patrol the Campo area of the California border, he said.

Carrying a gun on one hip and a cell phone on the other, he drives up and down the frontage road stopping at different spots to use his binoculars to look for illegal entrants.

When the Border Patrol agent asked, he gave him an old white T-shirt to wrap the severed finger and a bag of ice to keep it cold.
A few minutes later, as the agent wrapped the finger, he told Dan Russell, a member of the Campo Minutemen who arrived to the scene later, "I send to Fox the bill," referring to Mexico's president.

As night fell, the headlights from an ambulance lit up the area as paramedics gave De Rosario oxygen and bandaged her hand.
Hebek and Russell said they felt bad for De Rosario but worse for the citizens of the United States.

"More money from the taxpayers of the United States," Russell said.

Thank you from Campo Minutemen

Thank you for your support of the Campo Minutemen. There are now four men living on the border full time; Ridge Runner, Czechstan Max and Kingfish.

With regard to the donations we have received, our priority has been to begin the tedious, expensive process of setting up The Campo Minutemen as a California, non profit corporation and to apply for 501 status with the IRS. This way not only can people write donations off on their taxes, but the guys who come out regularly can write off their gas and other expenses. We are still in the process of this.

Your donations have allowed us to purchase Boost Mobile Phone Cards, which allow for secure communications.

Best of all, we have also found a source for used military night vision scopes. The guys on the line love them. We now have a total of three. They cost about $400 and work as well as units costing a couple of thousand dollars.

We have connected with some local property owners who have been involved quietly in border watching for years. They have provided us with maps and are working with us on developing hand written field reports. This process was helpful in eliminating illegal crossing through Jamul. We are also going to be looking at cameras. Used 35mm cameras have been suggested, as they can by used at a greater distance.

Thank you again for your support. Please check our website under "photos" and "field reports" for regular updates on the border. T Shirts and bumper stickers are also available.

Report from Jim Chase

From the Wall Campo,California-Mexico
Hangin' with Campo Minutemen

Thursday

I am perched on the top of Kingfish mountain just west of the smuggling canyon called Smith, in Campo, California. This is now the home of Britt Craig, leader of www.Campominutemen.com , FRS radio channel 6, . It was pretty quiet last night. Gadget Dan came up for a visit and we shot the Bull, had a little cold water and then ice cold coke.

I pulled a 22 foot trailer up here. not the easiest task but worth in in my economy. At a couple of points spinning all 4 wheels at once searching for traction. Howard and Max cleared the trail of bushes and measured the overhang of tree limbs in La Gloria canyon and I manuevered the sand traps and rocks. I like having a bed, heater, shower, toilet and refrig/freezer, and yet being away from everybody. We arrived without a scratch on the rolling house. How and Max called me crazy, but then my own wife calls me crazy and in fact crazy is why I get the big bucks from the VA, so crazy is cool. Personally, I think crazy is sitting on the border staring into the bushes waiting to be accosted by some smuggler, so everyone doing a Border event is crazy, but then who am I to judge? I'm the crazy leader of the California Minutemen, USBPA and BorderWatch..ex-leader, who it has been said of, murders poor immigrants.

I am watching Britts spot. Kingfish aka Britt Craig is away to see the movie "Border Wars" with his new wife Debbie. This is his spot, as far back as a year ago while he was in California Minutemen. While he is away I figured I would fill in. Generally no one comes up here as it is off the border road, isolated and distant from the social center of spots near the entrance road or on the high plateau 139-141. I see USBP agent passing a distance off maybe 3-5 a day. The next nearest minuteman is at least 1/2 mile or more away, but I have my radio checks and my cell phone has the best reception in the area, so I am cool. The truth is that this is a real vacation, where you can gather your thoughts and rest your body and soul.

I think this is chopper day as I have seen 3. Two flew over me this morning. I was out in my PJ's, field hat, bare foot, SU-16 jungle swung and binoculars and a chopper roared over me low and hit hit noise maker. Morning on the border.

Friday

Britt is back watching West and I am over by Smith canyon watching East. Forgarding the thief on the lamb, Britt dipped down West to look for the guy and I walked the west ridge and ajointing area that falls off into the canyon. Then I drove drown into Smith. Sand, a little water, two what you may call immigrant caves or mountain lions holes going 20 and 30 feet in. I entered with a flashlite, round in the chamber of my SU-16 and glock. I figured Britt would show up if there was any gun shots so no sweat. Found tracks, tennis shoes going south. Probably the guy, the Beeps seemed satisfied with the report. I heard they also lost a sniper rifle recently. Friday night illeagals came over via latter and went back the same way when Charlie 1 turned a powerful light their way. I think he said it happened at136 or 139 can't remember.

And my wife showed up and the furnace broke, Cool here at night. Oh bye the way for you who wish to come out here. There are trails on the West edge if you walk like your going to jump off the cliff into the canyon. Smugglers are skirting Britt to the East of his position, even east to the spoting stand that the group cemented above Smith canyon. A good place to go quietly sit with night vision.

Lay-up shooting gallery

At the end of the border wall smith canyon, west side,I filled bottles with sand set them on rocks and stuck others on the ends of dead desert plants. In the distance south, in mexico Mennonites are building a orphanage. We told them, some time ago, the way it was with bandidos. They came in and stole their ground well pump and pulled up 200 feet of pipe. Mexicans saying in their minds, "Thanx for coming here from Texas to care for our unwanted children, and oh, bye the way, we are stealing your stuff as you place. you rich American pigs owe us a living." They had a watchman..I guess he did his job and watched as the bandidos dug it up.

Saturday

Britts new wife Delta showed up. There are a bunch of people West but I am the last camp East right now. Checkstand was East of Smith canyon but has returned to Bell Valley West. There are alot of flags posted along the border. Some were taken by our Southern neighbors. Gadget Dan has taken to cleaning up tons of trash north of the border noting someone is marking trails so he unmarks them. He wants me to go lay low, watch wearing my ghilley suit Camouflaged, look like a bush oufit)..."oooh manana, o someday senior, I am lazy in the warm sun with my senior-eater watching the wall." I am old. I am tired, I am on vacation. If Juan trips by I will drop the dime. Last night Linda and I patrolled East to Shockey Truck road and then ate at the Indian Casino. They have the best t-bone steaks I have tasted in a long time.

Sunday

Delta headed home. Linda decided she'd like to stay another day. I broke out the generator to recharge all my battery systems and computer. You know it is nice up here with the breeze, wildlife, quiet and the chance of a little excitement now and then. And for those that like to socialize there are always others around to chat with, share a meal or a cold drink with. You do not have to be a Campo Minuteman to come and join in with Campo Minuteman. They issue no ID card. You can get a T-shirt by you are basically an independent observer responsible for your actions. Campo Minutemen will fill you in on what is what and who is whom, suggest if you need suggestions, but it is your show in your watch area. You can be someone new or from any group. Or just a person here for free camping. Yes, free. Campo Minuteman does not charge a fee of any kind. You can Camp Free on BLM land for 14 days or forever on the 60 feet north of the border. Come down with a FRS radio set on Ch 6. Your ready. A firearm is recommended but not required.Long hot showers coat $2 at Potrero County Park. What else does a person need?

Sincerely,

Shots Fired at Campo

A van of crossers reportedly tried to run over a border patrol agent in Smith
Canyon this morning and the border patrol agent reportedly fired shots. No one was
hurt and the vehicle was later stopped.

Media source states it was a suspected smuggling vehicle

-----------------------------------------------------------

>From JJ:

I just called Kingfish on the Campo Line for an update on the incident this morning out there. According to Kingfish," a van full of illegals attempted to escape from a B.P. Agent by running him down on Shocky Truck Trail, near where it intersects with Highway 94. The agent fired shots at the van as it attempted to escape. The van was apprehended on 94 west of Forrest Gate Road a short time later. The illegals inside said they had infiltrated into the USA through Smith Canyon, an area not currently being patrolled by the Campo MM due to lack of manpower, and just east of the areas currently under patrol by the Campo MM."

Immigration fireworks at parade
Union festivities attract border activists.
By Greg Mellen, Staff writer

WILMINGTON - For the most part, the 27th annual Labor Day Labor Solidarity proceedings in Wilmington went off without a hitch.

But not without some spice.

While picnickers were loading up on hot dogs and sodas and listening to union speeches, about a dozen activists from Save Our State and the Minuteman Project made an unexpected appearance and added a little heat to the Monday holiday.

Waving American flags and bearing posters with sayings such as "illegal immigration is not civil rights," the protesters appeared on a knoll at Banning Park, where they were almost immediately confronted by a large group unionists as well as of members of Hermandad Mexicana LatinoAmericana, a pro-immigrant organization that marched in the parade and was one of the larger groups on hand.

After some jostling and heated debate, the two groups were separated by a large contingent of parade security personnel representing the International Longshoremen and Warehouse Union.

Soon after, Los Angeles Police Department officers, several on bikes and four-wheel all-terrain vehicles, cordoned off the protesters and escorted them out of the park, while a large group of event-goers followed.

Chanting "union, union," and "racists go home," the picnickers easily drowned out a short-lived attempt at a "USA" chant by Minutemen and Save Our State members.

Standing across M Street from Banning Park, Deborah Grais, wearing a Campo Minutemen T-shirt, said she came to the event because she views illegal immigrants as "scabs" who hurt rather than help unions.

The protesters said they felt mistreated by the union security personnel.

"I'm upset the police forced us to go," said Knewt Young of Torrance, as he held an American flag. "We were causing no problems. The only thing agitating was our presence."

Part of the acrimony may have arisen because the National Alliance for Immigrants' Rights had joined in the parade to call for a moratorium on deportations and amnesty for illegal aliens.

"You can't talk about immigration without labor and you can't talk about labor without immigration, they're one and the same," said Nativo Lopez of Hermandad Mexicana LatinoAmericana, adding that events such as Monday's parade and picnic put them "under one house."

There were no arrests and no injuries and the confrontation was dispersed in about 20 minutes.

Before the protestors' appearance, the parade and picnic went smoothly.

The event began with the Oakland ILWU Drill Team being recognized for its 40th anniversary. Wearing yellow T-shirts, white ILWU hats, black pants, yellow gloves and carrying longshoremen's traditional hooks, the group put on a 20-minute show before receiving a plaque from the ILWU local chapters.

The drill team debuted in July 1966 when it marched with Cesar
Chavez down Market Street in San Francisco in a solidarity display.

Josh Williams, who founded the group, says it performs about 20 times per year, mostly on the West Coast.

"Whenever there's strife in the union, the drill team helps to unite us," said Anna Wills, a union and drill team member.

The parade was a spectacle of unionism, with carpenters, steel workers, pile drivers, flight attendants, nurses and machinists among the groups represented.

Each group seemed to have telltale colors. T-shirts bore a variety of messages, including an ILWU shirt with a snake emblazoned on the back and the message "will strike if provoked."

Several unions were on strike or contemplating strikes. The Los Angeles Engineer and Architects Association, fresh off a two-day strike, showed up in force with placards protesting conditions and wages.

Michael Davies, president of the local chapter, said his group didn't normally show up in the parade in such large numbers.

However, on Monday they wanted to show gratitude to the Teamsters in particular for honoring their work stoppage.

Flight attendants for Northwest Airlines were also contemplating a strike strategy they called "CHAOS" for "Creating Havoc Across Our System," which they said would consist of intermittent work stoppages and other actions.

Les Meeks, interim president of the local group, said his group's plight is not uncommon.

"We're not the only ones struggling," Meeks said. "All across America workers are struggling. There's a climate of corporate greed run amok."

At the post-parade picnic, representatives from disparate groups ranging from the Peace and Freedom Party to the International Workers of the World, or Wobblies, to the Colombia Peace Project, set up shop and handed out leaflets and sold T-shirts.

After the Minutemen and Save Our State protesters had left, a large tarpaulin was draped across the knoll, it said "The sun shines for everyone."

It had been painted by a man named Jose Matias, who said it was his message that "America is for everyone."

CASEY WIAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Lou, supporters of expanded rights for illegal aliens blamed everything from the holiday weekend to poor organization for the small crowds at their Labor Day marches.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED GROUP: Bush, escucha, estamos en la lucha!

WIAN (voice over): About a thousand supporters of expanded rights for illegal aliens marched in the streets of Los Angeles chanting, "Bush, listen, we are here!" They flew the flags of anarchists, Mexico and the United States, and demanded full amnesty for anyone in this country illegally. Illegal alien supporters rallied in several other U.S. cities on Labor Day. They're continuing their effort to link illegal immigration and organized labor.

Border security activists accuse the union marchers of betraying American workers.

DEBORAH CRAIG, CAMPO, CALIF., MINUTEMEN: We had a standard of living. We had a wage. The middle class is nonexistent in Los Angeles. It's being destroyed by illegal immigration. That's why we're here, because illegal immigrants are scabs, period.

WIAN: Police separated this group of counter-protesters from a hostile crowd of illegal alien sympathizers who continued their practice of calling anyone favoring immigration law enforcement "racist."

UNIDENTIFIED GROUP: Racists go home! Racists go home!

WIAN: The marches were nowhere near the size of the Mayday Open Borders protest earlier this year. It's another sign their movement, and especially their effort to register a million new sympathetic voters by 2008, is losing momentum.

An Associated Press analysis of voter data in a dozen U.S. cities found no evidence of a pro-amnesty voter registration surge. In fact, in Los Angeles, the birthplace of the illegal alien marches, new voter registration actually dropped 54 percent during the first six months of this year compared to 2004.

"Members of the International Longshore and Warehouseman's Union Local 13 confronted about a dozen protesters belonging to the anti-illegal immigration group Save Our State. The protesters said they objected to labor's pro-immigrant stance.

"We're angry about the unions trying to get illegal aliens to join," said Heather Evans, 26, a laboratory chemist and biologist from San Pedro.

The longshoremen, wearing light blue shirts that identified them as "security," surrounded the Save Our State protesters and attempted to block camera views of their signs. The protesters claimed they were jostled by the union members.

Los Angeles police separated the protesters and labor members at first. After about 20 minutes, the police escorted the protesters out of Banning Park and across the street as union members gave chase and chanted, "Racists go home!"

Police said no arrests were made."

Report From Wilmington, CA

"Well it was a wonderful demonstration because we all lived through it and are uninjured! Woo hoo!!!! Although it was a very tense situation, and several people did get hit or shoved. Basically I did not want to leave, but I knew it was in our best interests to let the police take us to a safer area. We made our point and got tons of press attention immediately.

nce that was done it was just dangerous to stay on the little hill we chose to "open up" on. Yes, the union members wanted to oppress our free speech. Yes, they had a permit, no, we did not.

The police were mostly great to us, So we were pretty much physically guided and prodded out of the main area. They used their bikes to push us and such. There was not much of a choice in leaving. We counterdemonstrated for another half hour across the street. Then we decided to leave before everyone else started leaving. It was a very quick but very effective demonstration.

We got a lot of press and even recruited a lawyer from San Pedro who is anti-illegal."

Man arrested after spitting incident
Hugo Maldonado is being held on a federal felony immigration warrant and on suspicion of resisting arrest.
By CINDY CARCAMO
The Orange County Register

LAKE FOREST – Deputies arrested a man on a felony warrant after he spit toward a crowd of anti-illegal immigration protesters Saturday in Lake Forest, Orange County Sheriff's officials reported.

Hugo Maldonado, 23, is being held without bail at the Orange County Men's Jail on a federal felony immigration warrant and suspicion of resisting arrest, Lt. Val Wilson.

At about 8:30 a.m., Maldonado was a passenger of a car that drove into a parking lot near a day labor site close to Ganahl Lumber store and a liquor store on the 23100 block of Orange Avenue, Wilson said.

Maldonado spit toward about 40 anti-illegal immigration protesters, Wilson said, but it's unclear whether he struck someone. Deputies, already in the area to keep the peace, saw what happened, spoke with Maldonado and ran his name, Wilson said.

Maldonado led deputies on a short foot pursuit after they discovered that he had an active warrant. Specifics about the warrant are unclear, Wilson said.

Also unclear is whether Maldonado had any connection to the day labor site or the protesters there, she added. Other than this incident, the protest was peaceful.

"You have an isolated, small incident," Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said. "It's too bad that that even happened. Other than that it was really peaceful."

Report from MCDC muster.

August Muster Saw Plenty Of Illegal Activity

Many thanks to all who participated in the August Muster. It was hot during the day (about 90) and downright chilly at night. It was one of our most successful yet with nearly 60 patriot’s participating and 47 illegals were spotted and reported to the authorities.

Here is a brief recap of sightings:

11 Illegals were spotted in camp on Friday and reported to the Border Patrol. All 11 were arrested

* 8 were spotted walking down Shasta Rd, near camp, by honorary Minuteman Aubrey and reported to BP. All were arrested.
* 3 were observed crossing the Border at about midnight on Saturday Night near Boundary Peak and reported to BP. Unsure of the result.
* 8 were spotted crossing the border at daybreak near Site D by our overnight crew with the Thermal Scope. All were reported

2 were observed by the Red Rocks. A film crew from the History Channel was on hand and interviewed one of the individuals (still on the south side) who called himself a “ranch hand”. Later he was observed with another person on a yellow ATV carrying a bolt action rifle. BP has reported a group of banditos is working that area and they are using a bolt action rifle.

* 15 were observed getting into a white suburban; a vehicle that was meant to hold 6-8 people at best. BP was called and all but the driver were apprehended. One individual, reportedly the coyote had a bag of cash on him that was estimated to be in excess of $10,000. One of those apprehended was a small boy about 9 years old.

Our NORCALMinuteman were once again on hand and had a hand in several of these sightings. Many thanks to our Chapter from up north.

Not one. Let me repeat that…NOT ONE National Guardsman was observed on duty in our sector and BP admitted they were way understaffed for the Saturday night watch with only 3 Patrol Agents on duty for the entire Campo sector that evening. YOUR ASSISTANCE IS STILL NEEDED TO SECURE OUR BORDERS. It has been reported that the National Guard will be coming to our area to do border watches. Trouble is, Border Patrol is watching them leaving few to actually apprehend the offenders. We need to draw more attention to this situation. Call your local radio stations. Tell them about our recent successes. Tell them that we need more BP Agents. The administrations claims that the borders are now secure are false.

National Guard?

Updae From JJ

Things heated up late Thursday afternoon around 4:30 PM. A large
group of the Campo MM were enjoying the shade of a large oak tree
down in the area known as the "oaks." One of our party (Charlie 1
from the Palm Springs area), who was riding his off road motorcycle,
took off to go out to Bell Canyon, which is out West of the "oaks"
position. He hadn't gone more than 50 yards or so when he found
himself smack dab in the middle of a migrating herd of illegals,
which were on both sides of the road, in the road, and trying
unsuccessfully to crouch down in the two foot high bushes at that
point. The illegals were around 20 in number, and were taken
completely by surprise by Charlie's quiet running motorcycle! As
Charlie was dressed totally in black riding leathers, helmet, and
holstered Glock nine side arm, as well as a cased TV camera, he was
temporarily as surprised as the illegals, who were by now reversing
their planned migration direction from north, to a more southerly
direction... he said that he was keeping his hand on his holstered
gun, while trying to get his camera out to film with, while trying to
keep his bike from falling over, and...you get the picture... Well,
needless to say, the Mexicans slid back down through that culvert
much faster than they had come up out of it. All Charlie 1 could do
was to look at the illegals and their "coyote" disappearing back into
Mexico, as their lookout flipped him "the bird" for nixing their mini
invasion of the good old USA. Border Patrol later said they tracked
the 20 person group westward towards Tecate until losing them...
I was up shortly before daylight and made my usual morning mobile
patrol. Charlie 1 and Ridgerunner were the only two MM up that I saw
or spoke with, but Kingfish was probably up, just maintaining radio
silence, which is the way it should be...
On my way down the hill around 7:00AM I met a B.P. Agent who has been
stationed in Campo for a long time, including a year of running the
big infra red light trucks. He said he wanted to really thank us
(Campo MM) for what we have done on the Border since we have been "on
the line." He said that we have made "one hell of a difference!"
Believe me, that was music to my ears! We talked for some 15 minutes
or so, and I arrived in Campo, near the Fire station, where I saw a
fairly good sized contingent of National Guard troopers assembling.
I just had to stop and chew the fat with a couple of them for about 5
minutes, or so. They said that there ARE about FIVE infantry
soldiers on the ground at Campo! The rest are Engineers, Chemical
Warfare, etc. He said not to say I heard it from him, but that there
ARE a FEW Army Scouts here, but not very many. I thanked him, and
proceeded on to breakfast. The TOTAL size of the group I would
estimate to be around 15-20 men.

Update from JJ

Yep folks, NO National Guard Infantry, but plenty of Engineers for
the Border Patrol to "babysit." One agent told a Campo MM that he
was on the "nanny squad", as he referred to the job assignment he had
been assigned to.

A group of 9 engineers told "Mad Max" that all
they had with them were bayonetts! Max asked them why thet thought
the B.P. Agents were wearing flak jackets. He then proceeded to fill
them in on the real atmosphere prevailing on the Border!
Last evening, or rather early this morning, around 12:30 AM, things
had been going real slow on the Campo Line, so "Checkstand" decided
to take several men down to an area off to the West known as Bell
Canyon, as there is almost always something happening there... a big
mistake, as no sooner were they redeployed to the West than Max
became over run by several groups entering all along the line from
139, 138, and 136. Only ONE Border Patrol agent was there to catch
them all, as the B.P.'s usually thin themselves out when they know a
large group of MM are in the area. Other MM groups take warning from
this. The Coyotes are very, very, PATIENT! They will wait for hours
and hours just to slip in when you move to go somewhere else,
as "checkstand" did last night. I wasn't here last night, but I will
be here tonight, and am going to be going mobile from 11:00 PM until
dawn, as this seems to really confuse the Coyotes, and keep them off
balance.

Tell everyone you know that there IS NO Guard on the Border between
San Diego and Jacumba, Ca., except for a very few Engineers, who have
NO GUNS, and MUST BE GUARDED by the very low numbers of B.P. agents
in the area, hindering apprehensions of illegals here!

There is
NO INFANTRY, no additional guns; the troops that appear have to be
guarded by nanny aquad B.P. agents. Very bad for morale. Very bad
for the security of the USA. A giant HOAX is being purpotrated on
the American People, and on the citizens of California.

Looking to make a difference this evening, as Kingfish and I return
to positions on the Campo Line,

Fence Building

I spoke with the National
Guard personnel here yesterday. They are NOT going to extend the
Border fence road on down into Gloria Canyon, as many of us had hoped
for. They said,"It's just too hard!" Oh well...
I've got to go now. Got another magazine crew to "bird dog" into
Campo.

Better to make history, than be run over by it,

JJ REPORT FROM THE CAMPO LINE

Well folks, arrived this afternoon on the "Line",and it hasn't
changed very much since the last time I was there about a month ago.
Met with Kingfish, talked with "36" by phone, and saw "Checkstand" in
person. The only National Guard on the California border at the
present time, that are actually DOING guard duty are 4 or 5 Guardsmen
near the Tecate, Mexico train tunnels! Yes you heard right. 5 or
6!! There are another 5 or 6 Engineers grading the Border Road, and
repairing old fence, and even starting to build a little NEW Fence,
but by and large, the National Guard promised by George Bush,
and "Ahnold" are nowhere to be seen!! This is late August, Folks!
Do you feel like you've been HAD with the politicos' lies? I sure
do. Is anybody out there really surprised? I'm down for a couple of
days from my job near Palm Springs. I guess the Campo MM have about
as many men on the Border as the National Guard does right now. Do
you feel safe? I don't. WHERE the HELL is the GUARD??
Several of us are planning (tentatively) on going to Texas as members
of the Campo MM, to assist Gilchrist's Group of MMP volunteers. We
are planning on flying, but getting firearms down there is a
nightmare, at best. Kingfish says that he may drive his van down,
just to alleviate that problem... Look out Texans! The Campo MM are
coming!...
Hope things are quiet on the line tonight,

UPDATE FROM CAMPO

This have been pretty active, with attempted crossings. They seem to be moving more toward Smith Canyon. Two guys with binoculars and cell phones were coming back and forth over the fence, seeming to for a good place to cross. The seemed older for coyotes. One guy was balding. Most coyotes tend to be in their 20's.

Two guys came to Kingfish's camp and asked for water.

People continue to surrender on site to Chicago. This weekend it was a guy who seemed to be in his 60's

Yesterday, there was some type of official tour of the border, on the US site, with the Border Patrol escorting men in suits.Later that afternoon, a Mexican Military helicopter was flying around.

No visible presence of the National Guard, but they seem to be doing some administrative work. When Kingfish called the Tacate Border Patrol last week, he referred to himself as a "civilian observer." They answering the phone. said, rather excitedly. "Who ARE you guys? Are you those Minutemen?"

MAD MAX TO THE RESCUE

MAD MAX TO THE RESCUE!

A few weeks a go, Jim Gilchrist and the Minuteman Project was accosted by open borders goonage in New York. And who was there to help them get away and safely into a cab? Campo Minuteman Mad Max! He had returned east to follow the Paul Revere Riders. On MMP woman said " I have never been to happy to see the Campo Minuteman T Shirt"

Max hopes to return to Campo this weekend. He would like to stay at the border full time.

National Guard on the Border?

Just received a phone call from Ken H., local MM in Campo. He is set
up with a quarter moon rising over his position on a hill overlooking
Tecate, Mexico, west of Ridgerunner's position on the Campo Line. He
saw Kingfish coming in, back to his position, a few minutes ago. He
said that NO NATIONAL GUARD are to be seen ANYWHERE in the CAMPO area.
Gadget Dan also said in an interview on the Rodger Hedgecock show last
weekend that NO Guardsmen were to be found at Campo.

More postings as they become history,

AZ:
Near Douglas, Az.
While in my motel and it's restaurant I
was surprised to see, and talk to, several National Guardsmen (12-15
of them) who were enroute to the Border near Ajo, Az.! I asked one
of them if he could tell me exactly what his orders were, if he
could. He said," To help the Border Patrol any way possible! Good
news, no? Well, after spending several days here in Mc Neal, Az., I
was in Douglas today eating lunch at the famous Gadsden Hotel. I
couldn't believe my eyes! National Guardsmen from THREE different
states were there to guard the Border. The states of Texas,
Kentucky, and Wisconsin have troops being quartered in the Gadsden,
and pulling duty nearby on the Az.-Mex Border. You people from those
states can be proud of these young guardsmen, for sure. I even saw
one female soldier amongst them... Some were just coming in from
patrol, and were just coming downstairs from getting their showers.
One was limping from a blister he'd gotten, so I know
they're "pounding some Az. ground" while on duty. I was able to talk
to a few of them, and they seemed genuinely interesred in picking up
a few pointers from one of the old Minutemen. All of them had heard
of the Minutemen, for sure. One of them even said that the MM were
the reason that they got to come to the Border, because of all the
fuss we were making over the Border being open!

JJ'S Report on the Campo Fire

The fire now burning in San Diego County (largest fire in the state
currently) is approaching Potrero from the northwest. Winds are
very light at the present time, so fire is not currently a threat,
unless the winds increase this afternoon. I just got off the phone
from talking to Ken H.(one of the local Minutemen who lives in
Potrero). Ken said he has already evacuated his wife and horses,
and has his other vehicles loaded, ready to leave if given final
evacuation orders. I told him to let me know if he needs help, and
I'd be there in about two hours or so. He said he really
appreciated that, and that you sure meet the best people while being
a MM.
I first spoke to Kingfish yesterday, about the fire, he was in L.A.
at his wife's house. He had just participated in the rally to
support the LAPD for their excellent work in handling the MM March
in Hollywood a couple of weeks ago.
Ken H. told me the fire is currently about 5 miles away, and burning
very slowly on a southeasterly course, which would take it near Lake
Morena off Buchman Springs Road.
Ken H. climbed one of the high peaks in the area and counted 11
different hot spots in the fire, so it's still 95 % out of control!
Checkstand is in town with car trouble. Ridgerunner, Little Dog,
Gadget Dan, and Rascal were on the "line" this past weekend.
Will keep you all posted as these historical events unfold.

Fire Near Campo Started By Ilegal Immigrants

Socal Wildfire Grows To More Than 15,000 Acres

POSTED: 9:58 am PDT July 25, 2006

ALPINE -- Fire officials were seeking additional manpower Tuesday to battle a 15,400-acre wildfire near the California-Mexico border as crews braced for another round of triple-digit temperatures.

The Horse Fire has burned 24 square miles of brush and chaparral in the Cleveland National Forest in southern San Diego County. About 780 firefighters have been assigned to the blaze, which was only 5 percent contained Tuesday and burning in a largely unpopulated area.

Several lightning-sparked wildfires have scorched the state in recent weeks, straining resources. Firefighters trying to contain the Horse Fire were awaiting relief from crews and equipment tied up elsewhere.

"We're really strapped right now," said U.S. Forest Service spokesman Jake Rodriguez. "We're putting in orders for more men and more air support, and we're just waiting for them to be released."

Authorities were still investigating the cause of the blaze, which may have been started Saturday by an abandoned campfire set by illegal immigrants.

Forest Service spokeswoman Anabele Cornejo said investigators found food containers and bottles off a park trail, where the fire began.

"Based on collected evidence, we're making an educated guess that it was probably started by immigrants," Cornejo said. She said she did not immediately know whether anyone was detained in connection with the fire.

About 80 homes were evacuated in the town of Carveacre and a voluntary order was issued for about 1,500 homes in Lake Morena, Portrero, Pine Valley and Guatay, said Roxanne Provaznik of the California Department of Forestry.

The fire was burning in a hilly area with few roads, forcing crews to hike in to cut 23 miles of fire line. Mild yet erratic winds kept the flames unpredictable, Provaznik said.

Fire crews have had to work through the 10th straight day of a heat wave that has sent temperatures soaring above 100 degrees through much of the state. At least five firefighters statewide have suffered heat-related illnesses in recent days, officials said.

"If you get behind on drinking water, you can't catch up," said firefighter Jon Sanchioli, 46, who was protecting structures from the forest fire. "We had one guy go down yesterday. We know you've got to be careful. If you keep on pushing, your body shuts down."

Temperatures near the Horse Fire were expected to reach 100 degrees Tuesday.

In Joshua Tree National Park -- where another blaze had consumed dense, desert vegetation -- fire supervisors asked crews to remove their helmets every hour to make sure they were still sweating, fire spokesman Dennis Cross said.

No sweat, he said, could mean a firefighter had "dried up" -- a sign of heat exhaustion.

"It probably feels like it's 150 up there," Cross said, adding that crews were drinking about the twice the amount of water and Gatorade they might otherwise consume.

"When you have this humidity and this heat, it really takes a toll on your body," he said.

The blaze, which was sparked by lightning Friday, was burning across 1.6 square miles near the Riverside-San Bernardino county line and destroyed a park-owned cabin. It was 96 percent contained Tuesday.

Farther north, more than 800 firefighters worked to cut lines around an 8,200-acre, or nearly 13-square-mile, fire on ranch land east of San Ardo in southeastern Monterey County.

A lightning strike late Saturday sparked the fire and erratic winds generated by thunderstorms caused it to spread, officials said.

Off the coast of Los Angeles County, a lightning-sparked fire on Santa Catalina Island was 75 percent contained at 1,094 acres, or 1.7 square miles late Monday, fire Inspector Edward Osorio said.

Osorio said firefighters were kept on the line in case the smolders flare up and burn out of control.

"We'd like to release some of the crews to San Diego to help them out, but if we let them go, it won't be easy to get them back to the island," Osorio said. He noted that it takes at least an hour to shuttle firefighters and fire engines to the island on boats and helicopters.
