Campo Minuteman Completes Yuma Sector Citizens' Academy

The Campo Minutemen are proud to announce that Britt Craig (Kingfish) has completed the Yuma Sector Citizens' Academy.

The Citizen's Academy is an eight-week program designed to provide first-hand information about how the Border Patrol operates. The academy met at the Yuma sector headquarters. During the academy, the selected applicants received an inside look at what it is like to be a Border Patrol agent in Yuma and gained insight into the national border security strategy and operational philosophy.

Kingfish began his work on the Mexican Border with the Original Minuteman Project. He then traveled to California where worked with California Border Watch, currently known as The Campo Minutemen.

More Illegal Border Crossers

These two men were spotted south of border, running over rocks.

The Man in the Green hat was observed looking over the border wall and yelling at the two men on the rocks.

The man in the green hat then approached the men in the rocks, who crouched down so that they could not be seen
There has been a large number of men in green hats and green clothing which looks to be a uniform at the border.

Observing and Reporting Illegal Border Crossers

This group came from the white van and climbed over the fence. They were spotted by Buddy and Kingfish, and when the Border Patrol showed up, the decided to turn back south.

Feds move resources to The Border

REPORT FROM GADGET DAN

On my way home from the Border last night (7 PM), I noticed a couple of Sheriff vehicles in close contact with the El Cajon /Tecate BP station on Forrest Gate Rd. Also, I noticed marked and unmarked BP vehicles side by side parked on Buckman Springs Rd. & Old Hwy. 80. When I passed by the BP Checkpoint, I said to the Agent this - " why do I have a gut feeling something big may be happening tonight"? He just smiled and said - maybe? I wished him well and went on my way. I did not see any National Guard in the area, but, they may be on their way or out of view? After reading your article, I thought I would relay what I noticed on my way home from the Border last night. Yesterday, I removed 40 pounds of sign/litter, and, the range fence I check daily in Campo was okay (no damage)....see what today brings? Dan. PS - Rise and shine America, it's wake up time!

CAMPO, Calif.—Eleven people were injured when a vehicle possibly involved in smuggling rolled over near the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego County's rugged eastern area.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Capt. Nick Schuler says the Ford Bronco rolled over less than a mile from the border around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Schuler says it's not clear what caused the single vehicle accident.

Two victims suffered moderate injuries and were flown to hospitals by helicopter. Nine others were treated for minor injuries.

Border Patrol spokesman Jason Rogers says agents suspect the victims are undocumented immigrants who had just been smuggled across the border. Agents took the driver into custody.

Border Patrol Uncovers Big Rig Smuggling Scheme in Golden Acorn Casino Parking

Campo, California - Two men are being held in federal custody for allegedly smuggling 25 Mexican nationals through the use of two semi trucks last night in Campo.

At about 10:30 p.m., Border Patrol agents were led to a parking lot at the Golden Acorn Casino as they pursued a group of illegal aliens on foot. The group boarded a cargo trailer through a trap door on the undercarriage. Agents apprehended a total of 17 illegal aliens found hiding inside the trailer.

As agents conducted surveillance of the parking lot, they observed a group of eight additional illegal aliens enter the cab of a second semi truck, which did not have an attached cargo trailer.

At about 11:45 p.m., agents stopped both semi trucks as they were being driven out of the parking lot. Agents arrested the eight illegal aliens and the two male U.S. citizens driving the semi trucks. The two drivers are currently awaiting charges for alien smuggling.

Through border awareness and intelligence-driven operations, the effectiveness of the Border Patrol is progressively increasing. Since October 1, 2008, the men and women of San Diego Sector have made more than 46,000 apprehensions of people illegally in the country.

REPORT FROM CAMPO MINUTEMEN

Campo Minutemen report an increased level not only illegal border crossings but in the level of violence. With the increased fencing and the filling of Smuggler's Gulch, the illegal border crossers seem to have moved east. Independent Minuteman Granny Goose, who has worked in the area for three years, and received an award from the Border Patrol in the area, has traveled east to work with the Campo Minutemen and the Campo Minutemen have been able to provide him some upgraded night vision equipment.

G-man is currently working on his quarterly replacement of batteries for his lights and sensor equipment. Easily the most successful Minuteman in terms of numbers of illegal crossers apprehended, he replaces 188 double "A" batteries four times a year.

Gadget Dan continues his border monitoring and removal of trash left by illegal border crossers. In the last three years, he has removed 12 tons of trash.

The violence at the border, which those who live there have noticed to be increasing for some time, is exploding. The United States Government has issued traveling warnings and tourists are staying away. Los Zetasn whose presence at the border, was reported by Campo Minuteman Jim Chase four years, ago, to much derision, has been confirmed by CNN.

Kingfish witnessed an incident of a Border Patrol Car being rocked in Smith Canyon. He observed the situation in case the agent needed assistance, but two more Border Patrol cars soon came to provide back up and the rock thrower fled. Gadegt Dan reports a large truck was pulled over, and dozens of illegals were found to be inside. On another occasion, gunshots were fired from south of the border fence. Border Patrol agents later located marijuana and one suspect was arrested.
